I want to share a personal experience with you; several years ago, in my undergraduate days, I wrote a mid-semester examination which I failed woefully, I didn’t understand the course ab initio. I approached the lecturer and pleaded with him for a make-up test; he not only refused, but he told me, he would come to the lecture room to read out our scores. I couldn’t believe my ears at the impending embarrassment. I knew the devil was at work; I promptly went to God in prayer.

The countdown began and I was getting nervous as the d-day approached, after a while I put my mind to rest and I was prepared for anything. My faith wasn’t strong, I must confess, but God has a way of meeting us mid-way, when our faith reaches its threshold.

The day of decision came and true to the lecturer’s resolution, he had the file with our scores on his table. But the bible makes it clear, when the enemy shall come like a flood, the Spirit of the lord shall lift a standard against him. God has not promised us a life void of challenges. He made it emphatically clear, challenges shall come our way but we shall prevail. As soon as he brought out the file, a student walked into the lecture room and told him of an urgent meeting taking place in the senate room; he had to leave immediately. That’s how God helped me on that fateful day. But remember, the Devil left Jesus for a season, he came back later.

The lecturer gave us an assignment; we had the task of writing all the practicals for the semester in our record book. To my utmost dismay, I was given a score way below what he gave others for the same work. I was devastated, but I remained calm, because I knew the devil was bent on frustrating me.

To make matters worse, I fell sick about a week to the final examination. Guess what? The lecturer’s paper was my first paper. A night before the examination, I could barely lift a finger. But in the middle of the night, God woke me up and gave me strength and understanding of the course; I studied carefully and went to the examination hall to write my exam, which I did very well.

I began to study for the practical examination of the same course; we had to study 13 practicals but I didn’t, I picked the two easiest programs and studied them. It sounded crazy and you’ll understand why very soon; I was confident of picking the easiest one, and I didn’t hesitate to tell everyone, the specific program I was going to pick. Perhaps you’re wondering what I mean by picking, let me explain; the programs were ascribed numbers which were carefully written in folded papers; they’ll then be put in a box where you have to pick one. In other words, you’ll be picking at random; you could be unlucky to pick a program you find difficult; it was further made more complicated because, if you intend to pick another, 20 marks would be subtracted from the 60 marks ascribed for the practical examination. The probability you’d pick a favourable program is also slim, hence the need to study all the 13 programs.

On the day of the exam, a colleague waited to see what I was going to pick, for I had told him what I would pick. Before I entered the hall, I stretched forth my hands to heaven and declared ‘Bubble sorting’, the name of the Program. I entered the hall, dipped my hand into the box, opened the paper, and to my delight it was the Bubble sorting program, I wanted to write. Courtesy of the transparent louvers, I made hand gestures to my friend outside to confirm, I picked ‘the one’, I was elated. The testimony didn’t stop there; God is willing to do abundantly more than we can ask…We had to take turns in batches, for the examination and as soon as there was a free system, I was instructed to use it.

Surprisingly, the system stopped working, though someone had used it; I was told to wait for another system, which I did. I hopped unto the next system and this time around, it was the same story, the system was malfunctioning. I had to wait for another person to finish, before I could write my exam; the wait came to an end; as soon as I sat down, I heard the voice of his majesty, saying,’ check the system’; I couldn’t believe what God was telling me because, the systems were always formatted before examinations, thus, there should be nothing on the system. I told God,’ there can’t be a thing on this system’ but I obeyed the voice of God, for the bible says, ‘if you’re willing and obedient, you’ll eat the good of the land.’

I checked the saved files on the program, and to my utmost surprise, the copy of the bubble sorting program was on the system. I couldn’t believe my eyes; I could tell the source of the program due to the complexity of the program; it was from the lecturer. No student would have written a program in that manner, we would have written it in a simpler way. I ran the program and lo, it was working perfectly. I bet you can guess the rest of the story.

How the program surfaced on the system remains a mystery. Forgotten there? I do not know because they wipe everything from the system before examination. One thing is clear though, God led me to the system. When I got to the first system, I could picture Jehovah saying,’ no this isn’t the system son. I proceeded to the second one and my father said, ‘you are close but not there. Immediately I got to ‘the one’,’ I heard the voice of my father,’ check the system.” God has promised to lead us to green pastures and he did just that with me;he is no respecter of persons, hence, i know he can guide you to your glorious destination. I have several testimonies of the leading of God in every area of my life; it is the most important thing in the world.

I want you to move closer to God, because his counsel makes the difference in every facet of life. Shalom!

Rev 12:11: And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the words of their testimony…

The most important pillar of your destiny is the Holy Spirit. Please take into cognizance, this piece will be focused on the role of the Holy Spirit vis-à-vis fulfilling your glorious destiny.

The most important person in the world is the Holy Spirit, hence you can’t achieve any meaningful success without him. Jesus Christ couldn’t step into his ministry until he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. One of the ingredients to a successful career in life is awareness and it is impossible without the Holy Spirit.

The bible makes it clear in Ephesians 2:10,” For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” So we can see clearly we are the instruments of God and he has a program for us even before we were born as attested to in Jeremiah 1:5. But it takes the Holy Spirit to reveal the plans to us.

Jesus knew his mission on earth with clarity and he declared it in a remarkable manner as outlined in Luke 4:18,”The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.” But I want you to observe carefully the first thing before declaring his assignment, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me’. So you can see here the Holy Spirit comes into our lives helping us to discover our divine assignment and helping us achieve it. To further buttress this point, Paul made a similar statement in 1 Corinthians 2:9,10,’’ But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.’’ It is clear that you need the Holy Spirit to reveal the plans of God for your life.

Your relationship with the Holy Spirit is the gateway to a life of exploits. The Holy Spirit is a regulator of destinies. Imagine your pressing Iron without one, your guess is as good as mine. Saul was wild because of the absence of the Spirit of God in his life, Peter was a coward because of the absence of the Holy Spirit but everything changed when the Spirit of God came upon him. Life with the Spirit of God is a life of exploits because the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. (TO BE CONTINUED)

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations (Jeremiah 1:5)

I consider the second pillar of your destiny your Purpose, which can simply be defined as the reason for a thing. You need to discover your purpose in life to achieve greatness. God created you for a specific purpose on earth. Your purpose is not your decision; God made it clear to Jeremiah he was ordained as a prophet even before he was born. Your purpose can also be described as your Assignment.

Sequel to the last post, Your purpose is the reason for your gift. Your Assignment in life is the reason for your makeup. A lot of people are frustrated today because they are not working on their God given assignment. Peter was a fisherman who felt he was doing the right thing until frustration knocked on his door. His Assignment was to fish for souls not for fishes, hence dejection came because he was out of place. No matter how long you do the wrong thing, it will never make it right.

Another example is Apostle Paul, as Saul he went on a frenzy persecuting Christians with so much vigour and passion. Indeed he had a powerful drive deposited in his system courtesy of his assignment but he was doing the wrong thing until Jesus rescued him.

Your Assignment in life could come in different ways, it could manifest via a crisis because you,re born to solve a problem. Esther found herself at the center of a crisis which threatened to exterminate her people. A very remarkable statement was made by Mordecai to Esther in Esther 4:14,” For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” God has put you in that position for a specific purpose, you may not like where you were born but it’s for a purpose. God took Esther to the palace to save the Jewish nation from extermination. It is also worthy to mention that if you don’t do your work God can have you replaced as he did with Elijah. Elijah ran for his life to the cave because of Jezebel; God visited him in the cave and asked him what he was doing there because he was supposed to be working not hiding. God told him to go and anoint Elisha in his place.

You are not sent to everyone hence everyone will not appreciate you. Jesus Christ was not appreciated in his hometown so he went to Capernaum. Moses was sent to the Israelites, Joshua was Assigned to Moses, Peter was sent to the Jews and Paul was sent to the Gentiles. Every time Paul went to the Jews he regretted it because he wasn’t sent to them.

Whose pain do you feel? Moses saw an Egyptian fighting his kinsman, he joined the fight. What gets you angry? There is no healing evangelist that loves sickness, neither will you find any deliverer like Moses cuddling oppression. What are you passionate about? Jeremiah couldn’t help but preach the gospel. What do you love? God gave us Jesus because of his love for the world.

All the challenges you’ve gone through and the ones you are facing right now is because of your purpose. Your assignment requires training; God will take you through so many challenges to equip you for your Assignment in life. Your Assignment will unfold in stages, it won’t be revealed in a lump. Jesus Christ went through 30 years of training for 3 years of ministry, Moses received training for 40 years under Jethro for 40 years of ministry,Jerry Savelle was a protege of kenneth copeland for several years just like other ministers and artisans trained under a mentor for knowledge. That’s the same reason we go to school to be trained and equipped in our respective professions.

If you need any clarification and insight about your purpose, get on your knees and ask the creator he will tell you. I will be talking about the Holy Spirit in the next post. Shalom

God has promised every believer a glorious destiny which is accessible in Christ Jesus. This doesn’t in any way prevent challenges from coming our way because it’s a way of life. I will like to take you through a biblical character because we’re admonished to be followers of those who by faith and patience obtained the promise.

Life is in phases and you must get a perfect understanding of the different phases to fulfill your glorious destiny. The men of Issachar are credited with a peculiar understanding of the times hence they became leaders of their kinsmen. I want you to know you will go through more challenges than unbelievers because we’re at war with the devil. I have good news for you because Jesus defeated the devil 2,000 years ago.

The bible makes it clear we’re royalty hence we’re supposed to reign on earth. If this is the case how come suffering and pain comes our way like God doesn’t even exist? There are situations that could depict God is no longer in the picture in our lives. God promised Abraham the fatherhood of the Nations but it took 25 years for the fulfillment of the promise. During those 25 years God took him through a process to be able to reign and handle the responsibilities.

God calls those things that be not as though they were. Joseph saw a glimpse into his future and it appeared he was foolish to tell his brethren of the dream. Joseph was sold into slavery and he ended up in the court of Potiphar where the Grace of God on his life elevated him to the leadership of the house. It doesn’t matter where you are if God is with you for all you need is God to meet your needs.

The devil reared his ugly head via Mrs Potiphar but Joseph refused to give in to the devil. He was imprisoned courtesy of the false allegation. Joseph also became the leader of the Prisoners because God was with him. The gift of God will always make room for you and bring you before great men hence, Joseph was brought before Pharaoh to interprete a dream his magicians couldn’t comprehend. As a result of this epic interpretation and level of wisdom Joseph was elevated to the position of the Prime minister.

When famine broke out Joseph’s brothers came to buy food in Egypt where they had to bow before Joseph by virtue of his status. Joseph remembered the dream he dreamt at this stage after so many years. Please take into cognizance he was 30 years when he became the Prime minister but he had the revelation as a young boy. Joseph suffered hatred, slavery, imprisonment but finally the vision came to pass. God will take you through a process to fulfill your destiny, it is often a painful process but at the end the vision shall speak.

Perhaps you are feeling down because of your present status or the hardship you’re experiencing, I want you to know it is only a process and if you will stay glued to God and not sell out to the devil you will excel. The vision is for an appointed time but you need to go through a process of preparation to sit on the throne. You will get there in Jesus name. AMEN

Challenges will come irrespective of our level of spirituality or love for God. During this phase it’s easy to feel God has left us or doesn’t exist as the case may be. I want to take you through the scriptures to give you practical examples of some peculiar situations.

Where was God when Adam was eating the fruit? What about when the serpent entered the garden? He was right there the whole time- if you ever doubted whether God was in the garden the moment Adam lost his covering, God called his name asking him for his location because Adam had gone hiding from the presence of God.

Where was God when Stephen was being stoned to death? He was right there because the moment Stephen asked God to take his life he died. Where was God when there was strife between the servants of Abraham and Lot? God was silent but he was right there because the moment Abraham applied wisdom and allowed lot to have his way God spoke to him.

Where was God when Joseph was sold? I think you should know the answer now. God gave Joseph favour in the prison because he was right there all the time. God never leaves us alone, it doesn’t matter whether the situation looks like it or not. The devil wants you to be so concerned about the situation you forget God is with you.

Israel was surrounded by enemy soldiers but Prophet Elisha wasn’t worried because he knew God was right there. His servant was scared because of the enemy soldiers but the Prophet asked God to open the eyes of his servant. There were chariots of fire around the great Prophet. God has promised us his protection and he is not a man that he should lie. No matter what you are going through put your trust in him, he will never let you down.

A lot of times we cry unto God but God has equipped us for every good work: Moses cried unto God when the enemy approached the Jewish nation but God asked him a remarkable question,”Why criest thou unto me”? In order words you don’t need to be calling me; he directed Moses to use the rod in his hand to wage battle. Ignorance is your limitation.

Let me share a final one with you, after Elijah killed 450 prophets of Baal, he ran for his life to a cave when Jezebel came after him. God spoke to him in the cave and asked him what he was doing there as well. God has equipped you for the challenges that will come your way.

God can’t be seen neither should we try to feel him for the true worshippers must worship God in spirit and in truth. The things which are seen are temporal but that which is not seen is eternal. It doesn’t matter how hard things get God is right there. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivers him out of them all.(Psalm 34:19) Shalom

    what do you see?

One of the most potent weapons God gave man is the power of imagination. It is also the same as vision; for the sake of clarity, the word imagination and vision will be used interchangeably in this article. It’s quite unfortunate that this free gift is hardly utilized by many in the pursuit of success in their endeavours. The household witches in your fathers’ house are not the reasons for your stagnation. I am not oblivious of the occultic world and their manipulations but more often than not, the failure of many is tied to ignorance and not the devil. The devil is not your problem, ignorance is your affliction. People perish for lack of knowledge not the devil (Hosea 4:6). The lord also emphasized this point, ‘therefore are my people gone into captivity because they have no knowledge (Isaiah 5:13).’

What you need to excel in life is at your disposal; Moses cried unto God when the Egyptians approached, God responded in a dramatic manner, ‘WHEREFORE criest thou unto ME? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward: but lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea (Exodus 14:15, 16). Do you know why God challenged Moses for seeking his help? The reason is because what Moses needed to defeat the Egyptian was in his hand in form of the rod.

Imagination is the rod that will take you to your promised land. I will be giving you three practical lessons from the word of God about the power of imagination or vision. And the lord said, ‘Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do (Genesis 11:6).’

The first practical example comes from the famous story of the tower of babel, the people desired to build a tower to heaven. The vision was so powerful insomuch it got the attention of the trinity (Father, Son and Holy spirit),’ let us go down’ and there confound their language (Genesis 11:7).’ This is arguably the biggest vision in the bible and it required a corresponding action to stop the plan; there was a board meeting in heaven where (God the father, Son and the Holy Spirit) went into action against man. God confused them because of the motive, but he acknowledged that nothing will be impossible through imagination.

The second example comes from our covenant father, Abraham. He had to part with Lot because of strife between their servants; God spoke after lot took the best plots, ’for all the land WHICH THOU SEEST, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever (Genesis 13:14, 15).’ Your success in life is not because of location if God has placed you in that place; lot took the best plots of land but Abraham Got the biggest deal courtesy of the power of vision. God is only committed to do what you can see and to the degree which you can see.

The final example comes from the book of Jeremiah, ‘moreover the word of the lord came to me saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then said the lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:11, 12).’

Have you wondered why nothing seems to be working in your life? It is because you don’t see anything; God is only obliged to perform what you see, he doesn’t determine how far you go in life; it is as far as YOUR EYES CAN SEE.
