    Your Assignment (2)

Sequel to the last post on our distinct assignments and engracements- It’s quite important to know we’re anointed for our purpose in life. There’s no need to feel inadequate because behind every God inspired vision is the grace to carry it out.

Let’s look at the life of Moses to understand the connection between assignments and accompanying grace.

    The Charge

“Now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.”Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring my people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” (Exodus 3:9-10)

Response to the charge due to Ignorance

But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt? (Exodus 3:11)

    The Lord’s response

Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh… (Exodus 7:1)

God made it clear to Moses he has equipped him for the task because every divinely inspired vision enjoys the backing of God. (Exodus 3:12).

As discussed in the last post, you’re the only one empowered for your assignment. I will like to cite another example from scriptures to buttress this assertion.

When Belshazzar dishonored God by utilizing sacred items recovered from the temple in Israel to entertain his household- the infamous writing appeared on the wall:

“Suddenly the fingers of a man’s hand emerged and began writing opposite the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace, and the king saw the back of the hand that did the writing. Then the king’s face grew pale and his thoughts alarmed him, and his hip joints went slack and his knees began knocking together.” (Exodus 5:5-6)

The king sought for help to understand the writings on the wall

“The king summoned the enchanters, astrologers and diviners. Then he said to these wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom. Then all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant.” (Daniel 5:7-8)

There was no one in the realm who could provide a solution to the problem as outlined above because there are peculiar problems that require unique persons engraced for it.

The Queen comes to the rescue

“The queen entered the banquet hall because of the words of the king and his nobles; the queen spoke and said, “O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts alarm you or your face be pale. “There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, illumination, insight and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods were found in him. And King Nebuchadnezzar, your father, your father the king, appointed him chief of the magicians, conjurers, Chaldeans and diviners.” (Daniel 5:10-11)

    Daniel provides the interpretation

Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel who is one of the exiles from Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah? “Now I have heard about you that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that illumination, insight and extraordinary wisdom have been found in you.”

“But I personally have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and solve difficult problems. Now if you are able to read the inscription and make its interpretation known to me, you will be clothed with purple and wear a necklace of gold around your neck, and you will have authority as the third ruler in the kingdom. Then Daniel answered and said before the king, “Keep your gifts for yourself or give your rewards to someone else; however, I will read the inscription to the king and make the interpretation known to him. “O king, the Most High God granted sovereignty, grandeur, glory and majesty to Nebuchadnezzar your father… (Daniel 5:13-18)

From the aforementioned, we can see clearly ONLY DANIEL had the solution to the problem. Similarly, there’s a unique assignment ONLY YOU are qualified for in life. Your discovery of this peculiar assignment is what determines your placement in life.

    Your Assignment

God has engraced you for a particular purpose and season. In the midst of recession, God wants his children to be the light that shines in darkness. It’s not a cliché there’s only one you in the universe- I am not referring to your unique fingerprint. God hasn’t created anyone like you; Although there are 7.4 billion persons currently inhabiting the earth, no one has the capacity to do what you’re called to do. If Jesus tarries and the population of the world increases to 20 billion, there’ll still be no one like you on earth or in heaven with the capacity to solve the distinct problem you were created to solve. I will cite some examples from scriptures to buttress my point. Let’s take a walk together- shall we?

    The Promised Land

Then the lord said to Abram, “know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners…for four hundred years. (Genesis 15:13)

The length of time the Israelites lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. (Exodus 12:40)

There was a prophetic word the Jews would spend 400 years in captivity but they spent an additional 30 years because the deliverer engraced for the assignment in the person of Moses moved abruptly before the appointed time. A proper calculation would reveal Moses killed the Egyptian and fled in the 390th year of captivity. Therefore, Moses could have saved himself the anguish and pain of living in the wilderness for 40 years if he had been patient for 10 more years- the Jews wouldn’t have had to spend an additional 30 years in captivity as well. Your point exactly Kunle? Until Moses was ready, the Jews remained in captivity. Isn’t it scary to know if you don’t fulfill your purpose, lives could be destroyed. (To be continued)

    The Church in Sardis

John the beloved under the influence of the Spirit of God wrote letters to the 7 churches in Asia Minor (present-day Turkey) as described in Revelations 2-3. The churches were not just literal churches; they also represent the 7 types of churches in the world. One of the churches John addressed the letters is the church in Sardis. The church in Sardis represents a dead church, a conformist church which has a form of godliness but denies the power thereof.

Revelation 3:1-2:”And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and thou art dead. Be thou watchful, and establish the things that remain, which were ready to die: for I have found no works of thine perfected before my God.

The Holy Spirit has gone on vacation in so many churches albeit it’s not conspicuous. So many altars have been desecrated while strange teachings are on the ascendancy. It’s also a challenge for those in these brazen distortions to come to terms with their erroneous doctrines because of the seemingly ‘fireworks’ in their ministries. Healings takes place and the membership seems blessed. However it is pertinent to know that the manifestations of the Spirit is not an affirmation of persons operating in these gifts. God confirms his word, he doesn’t confirm us. I have some reservations about some new doctrines in so many churches. There are also modus operandi worthy of condemnation: I am not necessarily referring to the special ‘penis deliverances’ or the grass eating sessions nor the satanic ministers whose feets mustn’t touch the ground till the end of ‘their services’. I am talking about some of the most attractive places of worship in the country. In a bid to save souls and experience breathtaking church growth so many churches have lost their way and have deviated from what God has called them to do. The church is supposed to be the light of the universe- hence we must be in a position of strength to liberate the world from darkness. However that is not what is obtainable today; most churches would rather align with the world in the name of reaching the world when the Lord tells us otherwise.

2 Corinthians 6: 17: “Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch no unclean thing; And I will receive you.”

Ministers have delegated the job of soul winning to comedians while entertainers are tasked with reaching sinners to receive the lordship of Jesus. I have no problem with comedians entertaining people in sanctuaries occasionally; however, it is awful to make it a ministry. In a bid to appear contemporary, the traditional and reliable methods of soul winning has been neglected by many; the place of holiness and repentance from dead works has been set aside in favour of sensational messages that will appeal to people and ensure the big donors don’t get offended.

When Jonathan Edwards preached the message ‘sinners in the hands of an angry God’;there were reported cases of open visions of hell- consequently, they repented and embraced Jesus. Some of the 20th century generals of faith- Charles Finney, D.L Moody and Kathryn kuhlman, didn’t employ comedians or mascots to disseminate the message of the gospel; nevertheless, they had more impact in reaching the lost than the contemporary preachers who have perverted the message of Grace.

It is not too late to turn from dead works and embrace the true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ which is able to save and deliver.

    The storm and your destination

Matthew 8:24, 25: “And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.”

We deal with diverse challenges in life and it will not come to an end till Jesus returns. Having a proper perspective will help us handle it in a better way. From our anchor scripture, the statement, ‘there arose a storm’, implies the storm wasn’t there initially, but sprung up at a particular time during the voyage. This is reflective of the battles we face in life; unforeseen circumstances that creeps up during our greatest hour to steal our Joy. From the above passage, Jesus and his disciples were on a trip before the devil introduced the storm. What was the purpose of the storm?

Matthew 8:28 “And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

The main reason for the storm was because there were people who needed deliverance on the other side. Your opposition is because of your position, no one kicks a dead dog. You may not know who you are but the devil knows; you may be ignorant of your glorious destiny, but the devil is scared of your destination, hence the opposition. How did Jesus deal with the opposition?

Matthew: 8. 26. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

Jesus spoke to the wind because it was fuelling the storm, he arrested the influence behind the storm. Furthermore, he spoke to the turbulent sea to come under divine control. You must speak to the forces fuelling insurgencies in your life, forces of darkness militating against your glorious destiny.

    Open your mouth and speak

    Praise God!

    Light bearers

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Mathew 5:16)

For centuries Christians especially ministers were under the bondage of the enemy- we were told it was a sin to be prosperous. I remember vividly in the early 90s, how people destroyed their TV sets because they were told it could lead them to hell. Our people were lacking knowledge (light), hence they subscribed to irrational things.

When Jesus came on to the scene, he announced himself as the light of the world (John 8:12). When he left Nazareth and moved to Capernaum, the bible makes us understand, ‘the people living in darkness have seen a great light, on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.’ (Mathew 4:16)

However when Jesus was going to depart planet earth, he said something remarkable, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Mathew 5:14). We are the light of the world now- light dominates, gives direction and delivers.

Joseph delivered a nation from starvation by telling them what was to come and teaching the nation of Egypt how to prepare for it (Genesis 47:13-27). When Belshazzar defiled the things of God, a strange writing appeared on the wall in the palace, he was frightened and his legs became weak (Daniel 5:5-6). The king summoned the enchanters, astrologers and diviners. Then he said to these wise men of Babylon, “Whoever reads this writing and tells me what it means will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around his neck, and he will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom. Then all the king’s wise men came in, but they could not read the writing or tell the king what it meant.” (Daniel 5:7, 8).

People panic when problems arise, however God doesn’t want us to because we’re raised as solution providers. When there is a recession, it’s an opportunity to buy more homes because they will be cheaper. It’s not the time for the believer to cry. There is a covenant of exemption on the believer in the midst of chaos.

See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the people, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. (Isaiah 60:2)

You must set the pace in your field, blaze the trail and be committed to excellence; this is the key to relevance in life. When the writing couldn’t be deciphered by the magicians; the queen came to the rescue.

“The queen, hearing the voices of the king and his nobles, came into the banquet hall. May the king live forever!” she said. “Don’t be alarmed! Don’t look so pale! There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners.” (Daniel 5:10, 11)

God expects us to be the light in our generation, we are the solution the world needs, where light is absent, life is absent. Daniel was summoned and he gave the interpretation. We often come in contact with people who are worried, battered, beaten, scattered and oppressed. There are people who seek solutions to their problems, there are destinies tied to your destiny, there are ministries that will not see the light of the day, if you don’t offer direction.

The barbaric killing of twins in Calabar was perpetuated for centuries due to darkness until God sent his servant Mary Slessor to put an end to it. I have found out the devil only has power where there is darkness.

… But this is your hour, and the power of darkness. (Luke 22:53)

Without darkness, the devil is impotent, hence the saying by the prophet,’ people perish for lack of knowledge’ (Hosea 4:6).

    How do we access light?

Redemption: For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. (Psalm 36:9)

Jesus is the light of the world, hence to access light; you must have him in your life. Of course you can feed on crumbs from the masters table but the children have access to the bread. You don’t need to feed on crumbs any longer when you can partake of the meal itself. If you need Jesus in your life, say this short prayer, ‘Lord Jesus, come into my life, I believe you died for my sins and rose on the third day, thank you lord for having me.’ Celebrate your new nature in Christ. Hallelujah!

The word: In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the LORD (Daniel 9:2). The word of God is the answer to the challenges of life; one word can handle 1000 oppositions and situations. The word of God is the life of God; you must study to know the word because your life depends on it.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Only worded people become solution providers, Jeremiah knew this mystery like no man’s business- hence, he devoted himself to the mystery and ministry of the word.

When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty. (Jeremiah 15:16).

When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19).

The standard is the word of God, when you face opposition, the Holy Spirit will give you a word of the abundance of the word you have read, studied, meditated upon in the same hour. When Jesus was in the boat and the storm came to consume them, the Holy Spirit released a word into his spirit in that same hour and he unleashed it to put the situation under control.

But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time you will be given what to say (Mathew 10:19).

What will be released into your spirit when challenges come is what you’re familiar with, it is the word that you’ve processed over time and have a command and deep revelation of.

There will be seasons of obscurity in your life. I want you to have a proper perspective about this very important period because it is inevitable. From the bible, we have an account of the birth of Jesus, his adventure in the temple at age 12, and the beginning of his ministry at 30. What happened between ages 12 and 30? The bible makes us understand in Luke 2:52,’And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.’ Jesus developed physically, spiritually and developed inter-personal relationship with people. Without these developments during that crucial phase in his life, he would not have been able to handle his three and a half years ministry.

Jesus didn’t choose to be known, neither did he try to move ahead of his time because he understood perfectly there is an appointed time for everything under the sun. God has to prepare you before he can use you; moreover, he wants to impart the grace needed to excel in your profession/assignment; that’s why he told his disciples to tarry till they were endued with power from on high. They were instructed not to start work until they got power. I want you to understand something, empowerment is in phases and degrees- God knew Jesus was vulnerable as a baby, hence Joseph was instructed to seek refuge in Egypt. Make no mistake about it; Jesus could have been killed if precautions were not taken because he came as a man despite the supernatural birth.

Jesus was protected by God when he couldn’t fight for himself, similarly, God wants to protect and empower you. Therefore, he’ll not put you on the radar at a particular phase in your life. Don’t try to be known, long to know Jesus and invest in your life- get some books, pray and fast, learn a new skill or trade.

Another example comes from the life of Moses; it can be divided into 3 phases- the first 40 years represents his birth, service as a general in the army ,and the assassination of the Egyptian which led to his exile. The second 40 years depicts service under Jethro, his father in law and priest of midian; while the final 40 years of his life represents his life as a prophet and deliverer. The second phase is the obscured phase, little is mentioned of those 40 years but that is actually the most important phase in his life. Albeit, Moses was in line to be pharaoh, he lacked character, thus he resorted to assassination when there was a challenge. God knew for him to be useful he had to go through another phase, hence 40 years of service as a shepherd under Jethro. The experience was in total contrast with the affluence in the court of Pharaoh but God takes us through diverse experiences to mould us.

After the 40 years as a shepherd, Moses was declared as the meekest man on planet earth. What a transformation! God can re-write your story and turn your scars to stars.

A final example, David was a teenager when he killed Goliath, a warrior amongst warriors: when David got to the battleground, Saul told him, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” But David replied, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear.” So you can see clearly David was already tested but we wouldn’t have known about his exploits if he didn’t make mention of it at the battlefront because, the bible makes no mention of it. Where are you going kunle? God predestined David to kill Goliath, but he arranged a practice session for him by bringing bears and lions to trespass.

I am sure David’s folks didn’t know about his exploits because had they known, he would have been held in high esteem by his father when Prophet Samuel came to anoint one of his sons as king. The father didn’t regard him as one worthy to be king, he was considered inconsequential. Furthermore, when David got to the battleground, his brother didn’t consider him worthy to be there- take into cognizance, Jesse, his father sent him to take food to the battleground for his brothers.
Definately, they couldn’t have known he killed a lion and a bear; otherwise he should have been there as well to fight. I am not surprised though and I will tell you why. David was an upright man who trained himself in the art of hearing from God (evidences abound in the bible of his interactions with God).

It is highly possible, David was instructed by God not to disclose it. Jesus Christ did same several times; there were scenarios, he told people not to disclose what he did; he told his disciples not to reveal he was the Christ. Back to David, why would God tell him not to disclose it, I believe it was to protect him because, if you analyze the statement made by his brother at the battleground carefully. You’ll realize it was filled with rage, “When Eliab, his oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he grew angry with David and said: “Why did you come down? With whom have you left those sheep in the wilderness? I know your arrogance and dishonest heart.”

I have no doubt if David’s brothers knew of his exploits, they would have given him the Joseph treatment; he would have been killed or sold like Joseph. God will protect you when you’re vulnerable and he will tell you to fight after empowerment. Shalom

While drafting a response to a friend’s comment on facebook who was worried about the different facets of life and the challenges that comes with them. I began to scribble a response to encourage her; as I began to write, the Holy Spirit began to minister to me and the short response initially anticipated became pages- hence the decision to bless you with it.

I want to appreciate the Holy Spirit for this powerful revelation: you’ll probably hear what you’ve never heard, but open your heart and analyze it according to the scriptures. I pray the Spirit of God grants you understanding. AMEN

I want you to know something today, it is normal for evil to happen in the world; please permit me to rephrase it- its abnormal for evil not to happen. Why this pessimism? People close to me will attest to my optimism and my positive outlook to life. Nevertheless, the truth must be told; the bible makes it clear; the devil comes to kill, steal and to destroy- 3 fold mandate of the devil. Why is it normal for evil to happen in the world? It is because the devil runs the world and not God. Heresy? No way! You mean God doesn’t run the world? My God doesn’t run this chaotic world. I am not trying to get your attention with that phrase; I don’t write, if I don’t hear from heaven, because you won’t be blessed, neither will I be satisfied. This is not just a blog; it’s a platform to mould and impart lives.

Take a walk with me to the Garden of Eden; Adam lost the authority God entrusted to the entire human race to the devil. As a result of the new change in baton, the natural state of man became evil-from that period, the bible makes us understand man was born into sin, hence, the statement ‘for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.’ Jehovah wanted a family; hence, he created man and gave him a companion to bring about the vision. Adam gullibly lost the authority to the devil; as a result of the high treason, the devil received that same authority. That’s why the devil could tell Jesus to bow before him for the riches of the world. Jesus never disputed the devil’s right to the authority and riches because Lucifer got it legally from Adam.

Ab initio, man was no 2 to God; the hierarchy was God, man, Archangels, Angels…that’s why an angel, once questioned God’s rationale for placing everything under the authority of man- he just couldn’t fathom why God would choose to give so much to man. But after the fall of man, the world order changed and the devil had a legal right to rule the world- that’s why he’ s called the prince of the world.

I want to enlighten you on the heavens- from Apostle Paul, we know there are 3 heavens-bible scholars agree on this as well. The 1st heaven talks about the galaxies- stars, moon and the planetary bodies; the 2nd heaven, talks about the kingdom of the devil and his demons- the bible emphasizes our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies- They operate in the second heaven. The third heaven talks about the kingdom of God- the good kingdom with the saints and angels. Unbelievers and sinners are under the 1st and 2nd heavens; thus under the jurisdiction of the devil. Can you see the reason some people worship the sun, while others study stars (star gazers and astrologers) – they operate in the 1st and 2nd heavens.

Please stay with me- God deviced a plan to get the authority back from the devil, hence-he sent Jesus to destroy the works of the devil and restore man to the glorious era-a plan that was a success. The bible makes us understand, Jesus defeated principalities and powers (present in the second heaven) and he gave the power and authority back to the believers (Luke 10:19; Mathew 28:18-20). Furthermore, the bible says, Christ has translated us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of his son (relocated from the 2nd heaven to the 3rd where the throne of God is). The bible says we’re seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, therefore, when a person receives Jesus as his personal lord and saviour, that person crosses over from the worldly kingdom to the kingdom of God in the 3rd heaven. Conversely, unbelievers and sinners are under the devil and he can choose to molest them as he pleases.

What am I trying to tell you- A believer is seated in heavenly places with God and has authority over the devil; I am not in any way insinuating the devil will not attack you – we’re told the devil will come at us, but we’re more than conquerors, because the devil is defeated and we have authority over him. Jesus took the authority from the devil and gave it to Christians not the world- that is why I said God doesn’t run the world; he is only in charge of his family not the world. That’s why the bible says, the believer, though is in the world is not of the world- our kingdom is above. Are you getting the picture? The devil runs the world but Christians are not of the world, we’re seated in heavenly places far above the realms of the devil. The devil still has authority over the world; until the day Jesus comes to put him where he belongs, he’ll continue to torment the world. To be clear, God is omnipotent and can decide to do whatsoever he wants in the universe, but he can’t do everything he wants, because there are laws that can’t be broken. The bible says ‘shall we continue in sin and expect grace to abound’; in order words, do we continue to engage in sin and expect the blessings of God in our lives. God wants to bless and protect us but he can be prevented from helping us via our acts of sinfulness. God can’t do some things for those not in his kingdom-its akin to a man trying to kidnap another man’s child. God is light, while the devil represents darkness, thus it is imperative that we must come under his light if we want to benefit from him. God can’t go into the demonic kingdom to hijack people- he’s not permitted to do it. Its the way the system works; all God can do is to encourage us to come into his kingdom on our own volition. He needs our permission to do certain things.

God wants us to live and not die but if a man decides to jump from a story building, God wouldn’t hold his legs. Are you getting the point? Okay another example, do you know God had the power to prevent the serpent from entering the garden? Do you know God had the power to prevent Eve and Adam from eating the fruit? So why didn’t he if all the powers in the universe belongs to him? God has given us the ability to make our choices, he won’t bully anyone. What I am trying to tell you is there are some things God would not do; furthermore, there are things he’ll also like to do but if we don’t allow him, he can’t. Take for example, Abraham pleaded with God not to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah; he negotiated with God to spare the city, if he found 50 righteous persons in it: Abraham realizing the wicked people resident in Sodom and Gomorrah, engaged in further negotiation with God to a number he felt could be met- God agreed he wouldn’t destroy the city if he found 10 upright people in the city. Abraham was satisfied the city had been saved; do you know the city was destroyed? The bible says God doesn’t want sinners to perish but that they should come to repentance. God agreed not to destroy the city despite the wicked acts and atrocities but he couldn’t find 10 upright persons in the city: which reinforces what I have been trying to tell you-we can prevent God from doing some things. When Jesus was in his hometown, he wasn’t appreciated- the bible makes it clear, he couldn’t do much- not that he didn’t want to; they didn’t have the faith needed to provoke their miracles.

The bible says the soul that sins will die; it simply means when you engage in sin, you come under the authority of the devil and he’ll be able to carry out his mandate (steal, kill and destroy). God won’t be able to help you because the kingdom operates under laws, which God is subject to as well- that’s why the bible says, his word has been placed above his name. In Isaiah 59, God makes it clear, his hand is not short that it can’t reach, neither is his hear heavy, that he can’t hear, but the sin of man has separated man from him, that he will not hear. There is a difference in not being able to hear and deliberately ignoring the person because of sin- that’s exactly what God is saying, when you engage in sin- he will ignore you and the devil will be able to exercise authority over you, because sin puts man under the authority of the devil. Think about it for a minute, if God took away all the powers from the devil, why is the devil still killing people? The reason is because God only took the authority the devil had over the CHRISTIANS not the entire world.

God had to grant the devil permission to afflict job because every upright believer has a hedge around him. When Samson messed up, his eyes were plucked out and he became a victim; when Samson walked perfectly before God, no one could touch him because of the presence of God.

The bible says we’re kings and priest, thus we’re supposed to reign on earth and do the works of God. Jehovah needs the services of you and I to carry out his work on earth; God has always used men to carry out his works on earth- we’re here to govern and put things right. While it’s a truism, God is the king of kings and the lord of lords; there are some things he can’t do, unless he does them through us (the believers).

I want you to move close to God, accept Jesus as your personal lord and saviour. If you haven’t received him into your life, say this short prayer:

“Lord Jesus, forgive me for my sins, I know you died for me and on the 3rd day you rose again. Come into my life today. Thank you Jesus for accepting me into your glorious kingdom.”

If you have said this prayer, I am happy to welcome you into the kingdom of priests and kings. I implore you to frequent this site and read all the articles; it’ll help you grow. Get a bible and look for a good church where the word of God is taught. I will like to hear from you, leave a comment below or send me an email

    God bless you. Shalom

Habakkuk 2:2…write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it.

Having a vision is good because greatness is impossible without it; nevertheless, the vision must be clear and written down expressly. Statistics shows that people who write down their goals have a higher success rate than those who don’t. Having a clearly written vision dates back to the first century- nothing is new under the heavens.

Leadership is impossible in any organization, if the leader is not a visionary. Furthermore, it has to be a clear-cut vision which can be easily understood by the followers. Suffice it to say, there is no way followers can perform to the best of their abilities, if the vision is not plain, because they won’t be able to run with it. I honestly believe a leader must be able to cite the vision of the organization in a very simple sentence.

The bible admonishes us to be followers of those who by faith and patience obtained the promise; hence, I am compelled to cite two examples from the Holy book. About 2,000 years ago, a rabbi on a recruitment drive, met two brothers working; he proceeded to sell his vision with a profound statement,’ follow me and I will make you fishers of men’; immediately, the brothers followed him, because Jesus was able to paint a future for them in the simplest way possible. There was no need for hours of deliberation because the vision was easy to be understood. When followers get a grasp of the vision of the leader, they subscribe and run with it.
John had an encounter with divinity at the island of Patmos: Jesus told him “write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter” Revelation 1:19. We can see clearly, it is the modus operandi of God for us to write down our visions.

It is not enough to have a vision; you need a mission statement culled from your vision. It must show what you intend to do to actualize the vision you have. Take for example, Adam lost the authority given to him by God to the devil which necessitated God sending his son to defeat the enemy and restore what was lost. Thus his parting words after the completion of his assignment is not a coincidence ‘all power on earth and in heaven has been given to me…’ Jesus came primarily to restore man back to the glorious era before the fall of man. Hence, his vision could be said to be a mandate of restoration- he wouldn’t have been needed, if Adam didn’t sell out to the devil. There would have been no need to be born again if Adam didn’t die spiritually.

In order for Jesus to fulfill his mandate, he had a mission statement outlined with clarity in Luke 4:18,’ The Spirit of the lord God is upon me because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives… In order for Jesus to fulfill his mandate of destroying the works of the devil and restoring man back to the glorious era, he needed to run with a mission statement of how he intended to achieve his vision. In order words, God had a vision of reconciling man to himself, he sent Jesus on a mission outlined in Luke 4:18

Bill gates had a vision from the onset to put a computer in every home; he established a company to that effect and today, it is speaking loud and clear in every nation of the earth.

Please understand perfectly, the devil will fight your vision- Oh yeah he will. The bible says ‘Surely they shall fight against thee but they shall not prevail for I am with thee… ’ The devil took special interest in Peter because he knew he would become the leader of the church; similarly, he tried to destroy Moses because he knew he was a deliverer.

The bible makes us understand, had the devil known he was being used to fulfill a divine mandate, he wouldn’t have led his folks to crucify Jesus. I want you to know something today, the devil later found out he was being used – that is the reason he tried to use Peter to prevent Jesus from going to the cross. Think about it for a minute, one minute he was saying “Kill Jesus”, the next minute he was trying to prevent him from dying. That’s the reason Jesus rebuked Peter by saying “get thee behind me Satan”. Jesus wasn’t calling Peter satan; he meant Peter was under the influence of the devil, he spoke directly to the devil, not once did he mention Peter, albeit he was looking at him. The bible says, while we look not at the things which are seen, but the things which are not seen- for the things which are seen are temporal, but that which is not seen is eternal. Jesus was operating in the spirit- he was speaking to the devil and not Peter. In the same vein, Jesus while looking at the temple, told the scribes “destroy this temple, and in 3 days I will raise it back”.Jesus was looking at the edifice, but he was speaking about his body not the physical structure.

Do not forget, before Peter yielded to the devil, he was applauded by Jesus when he sought to know what People thought of him. Peter told him, he was the anointed one- Jesus made it clear the inspiration came from God and not man. Peter could have thought he was under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost at that particular period as well, but Jesus knew better.

Move closer to God because no vision can see the light of the day without him.. It is well. Shalom

In 1 Chronicles 21:1-2, the devil led David to number Israel; consequently, God was angry with him. On the surface, it appears there is nothing wrong with a census exercise but in this case there was. Why was God angry with a man after his heart? It was because of the motive not the act; God made it clear to Samuel, when he went to the house of Jesse to anoint one of his sons as king over Israel, he looks at the heart. Furthermore, Mary also laughed when the angel of the lord told Abraham, she would conceive at old age- she denied laughing out of fear not because she wanted to ridicule God.

Motive is as important as the action itself- David numbered Israel because he was trying to justify their victories with their population. Going down memory lane, Israel has never been a large nation vis-à-vis population. From the bible, about 3 million Jews entered the promised land; the 2013 population estimate is 8,051,200 according to Wikipedia. Nevertheless, they have fought historical battles with nations quadruple their number and prevailed because of God.

God was angry with David and 70,000 people died as a result of the fallout of the census he conducted. When Israel disobeyed God via Archan’s indiscretion, a small nation Ai, humiliated them-This goes a long way to buttress the source of their victories.

The walls of Jericho fell down via trumpets and not ballistic missiles; God told Jehoshaphat to leave the battle to him- he did and God fought for them. The Egyptians perished in the sea via the supernatural works of God not of man. Gideon came to God with more than 20,000 soldiers; God reduced them to 300, because they would have attributed the victory to their number.

They that put their trust in the lord shall be as mount Zion which can’t be removed but abideth forever. God is all we need to have all our needs met and fight our battles. Our trust must not be in our money, ideas, people…; we must look unto the author and finisher of our faith. He’s the beginning and the ending- there’s a way that seems right to a man but the end leads to destruction. God is omniscient-he knows everything, let’s put our trust in him, because the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the sight of God.

The Spirit is the life Giver; the body does not benefit anything. The words that I speak with you are spirit and life. John 6:63

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6

I want to share something very special with you today; the Holy Spirit, gave me this message 48 hours ago.

The Holy Ghost is the most important person in this dispensation; to benefit from his ministry, spirituality is required. We must embrace a lifestyle that draws people to God because they will not always listen to us, but will take note of our actions. Our light should shine before men that they may glorify God; Nebuchadnezzar though an unbeliever, made a declaration that only the God of Daniel, should be worshipped in the kingdom, via Daniel’s exemplary lifestyle of righteousness.

Galatians 5:25 says, ‘if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.’While living in the Spirit may entail going to church, walking in the Spirit is the ‘real deal’. To walk in the Spirit, we must be spiritual whether we’re in the sanctuary or not. Our lives must depict that of Jesus Christ; if you won’t be rude to a person in the church, why should you insult him outside the premises of the sanctuary. God can speak to us or direct us anytime; if we’re not walking in the Spirit all the time, we could miss out on some instructions from God.

God deals with us according to his timing which we must subscribe to. John was in the spirit on the lord’s day and he heard the voice of his majesty. The bible also says, ‘he that hath ears let him hear what the Spirit saith.’ In order words, he that has spiritual ears, let him hear what the Spirit is saying. A lot of factors can interfere with spiritual signals, John couldn’t have been angry at the island of Patmos and at the same time, receive instructions from God. The bible says,’the kingdom of God is within us; hence we carry Jesus everywhere. He dwells on our inside, therefore, we must be conscious of this everyday; furthermore, it must reflect in the way we live and relate with others. I strongly believe, if we live an exemplary lifestyle like Daniel and Joseph, unbelievers will draw near to us and desire what we have. The bible says,’ the things which Jesus began to teach and to do’; he wasn’t just preaching, he was an embodiment of the message, because faith without works is dead.

Life is a battleground; hence, we need to be armed like soldiers in the lord’s army. The word of God is the sword of the spirit. Our battle is not carnal, it is a spiritual battle, thus only spiritual arsenals will do. The word of God brings situations under control; God doesn’t do anything aside speaking the word. We’re created in the same image and likeness of the father; hence, we should take a cue from him and rule our world as kings and priests. Jesus Christ used the word and he was on top of situations every time.

John 6:63 says, ‘the words I speak are Spirit and life,’ the word of God contains the life of God making it creative. Please remember that Jesus is the word of God; whenever the word is released, Jesus is summoned, while his father, the Holy ghost goes into operation. The word of God is the remote control that powers the Holy Spirit. Whenever you issue the word, the Holy Spirit, moves into action to bring it to pass, because he inspired the writing of the word. Furthermore, God confirms the word of his servant and performs the counsel of his messenger. Please do understand, the bible says ‘servant’ not preacher; do you serve God in one capacity or the other in the kingdom? If yes, then you are qualified to enjoy speedy confirmation of his word, because God is only committed to you based on your commitment to him. The bible says in Psalm 18:26, ‘to the pure you show yourself pure, and with the crooked, you show yourself astute.’

In the beginning, darkness was upon the face of the deep; though the Holy Spirit was moving upon the surface of the water, the status quo remained, until God spoke the word,’ let there be light’. Until you speak, you’re not going to experience the power of God; we’re admonished to open our mouth wide so that God can fill it- because you can have whatsoever you say. Furthermore, Jesus did many wonders while on earth by the spoken word; Joshua commanded the sun to stand still; Elijah changed the atmospheric condition and brought down fire by his word. Ezekiel spoke to the dry bones, the Spirit of God entered and life surged into them, because the word is Spirit and life.

I don’t know what that situation is, but I do know if you will look at those dry bones like Ezekiel did and speak the word of God, life will surge into it and God will restore all the years lost. It is well. Shalom
