Mathew 26:53, 54: Thinkesth thou that I cannot now pray to my father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels. But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be

Mathew 3:15: suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.

When it was time for Jesus’s crucifixion, the scribes came to arrest him. In the ensuing milieu, one of his disciples reached for his sword, and cut off the ear of one of the scribes. Jesus restrained him, and healed the man who lost his ear; he made them understand, he could defend himself, but it was necessary, to go through the process.

The law of necessity must be understood and applied if we must succeed in life. Life is a phase, it’s a process that leads to a glorious end. Nevertheless, our God believes in order. From the life of our saviour, we can learn some valuable lessons. Jesus went through a very shameful, and painful process to liberate mankind from the devil. He came to get back what Adam lost in the garden of Eden; but for this to happen, he had to endure the pain of the cross, and subject himself to certain things.

Life will throw a lot of darts at us but we must remain focused to partake of our inheritance. Rome wasn’t built in a day, it took a lot of investment and effort to make it an enviable state. A bachelor’s degree can’t be acquired in a day, it takes years of education with diverse challenges surmounted to get one.

Trials are the launch pads of champions- they are motivated when challenges come because they see an opportunity to be rewarded. Without the cross there’ll be no Christianity, without sorrow, joy wouldn’t be rewarding. Trials are necessary in life to achieve success; any destiny the devil doesn’t fight will amount to nothing. Herod issued a decree to kill babies because of one- Jesus Christ. Moses had a similar experience and would have been killed, but for divine intervention

It is good to have a vision, but it is necessary to have some virtues to achieve it: Discipline is required to achieve success in life; Joseph had to go through imprisonment to get to the palace. Jesus told Paul, he’ll take him before kings to preach the gospel. Do you know Paul went through the prison walls to meet Caesar? Yes, he did. God doesn’t reveal the process; he only tells us the destination. It took Paul several years before the prophecy was fulfilled.

Prophecy is not automatic, you have to war to possess your possession. God told the Israelites to go ahead and possess the land he’s given them. If God has given them the land, why the need to fight to possess it? It’s the modus operandi, of the creator and it’s been so, since the days of John the Baptist. God doesn’t change, yet he’s relevant.

There’ll be seasons of trials in your life, but be calm for the battle is the lord’s and he’s won already. Please understand something, God is not telling us to fight to determine the winner; Jesus Christ defeated the devil 2,000 years ago, thus, we received the power to destroy all the works of the enemy. All we’re told to do is to exercise our authority over the defeated devil and his little cronies.

Discipline can’t be over-emphasized to have a quality walk with God. So many anointed men have lost their place in history courtesy of indiscipline. Talent is not enough, anointing is not sufficient- discipline is the key. If Joseph had slept with Potiphar’s wife, he would have sold his glory, just like Esau. Discipline will see you through any trial the devil brings your way.

What you’re going through is because of where you are going; hang in there, you will excel.

But Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added…. (Mathew 6:33)

What you decide to prioritize will decide your success in life. If you place priority on the right thing, you’ll reap the dividends. Conversely, if you put emphasis on the wrong thing, you’ll suffer the consequences. Your success in any endeavour is directly proportional to the direct investment of your time and resources in that area.

Scientist place emphasis on science; doctors on medicine; lawyers on law, hence they invest their time, energy and resources in the field; Shakespeare placed emphasis on literature, thus, he’s a force to reckon with it in the literary world. Good principles are universal, irrespective of religion, race or creed. Every good knowledge is from God; it doesn’t have to carry a biblical tag.

It is imperative to put things in perspective in our lives; economists are proponents of scale of preference to put things in order for efficiency. It is pertinent for the believer to devote attention to the right thing, for there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof, leads to death.

To achieve success in the kingdom of God we need to know what God considers a priority for his ways are not ours. The word of God admonishes us to seek first his kingdom to benefit from the largesse available.

We must be born again to be members of the kingdom of the most high God; Jesus must be allowed into our lives to permeate our spirit with illumination from the throne of grace. The most important thing in life is our salvation that we may escape eternal damnation. Furthermore, it qualifies us for citizenship into the most glorious kingdom in the universe- a kingdom of kings and priests. Until we receive Jesus into our lives as our personal lord and saviour, there’ll be no access to the throne of grace. You’ll agree with me, your bedroom is not for strangers, but for those you consider as family. In the same vein, the kingdom of God is meant for the children of God.

It is not enough to be a child of God; Jesus must take center stage in our lives- he must take pre-eminence in our lives. A practical example from the holy book is the reception held in honour of Jesus in the home of Mary and Martha. Martha was more concerned with the earthly- she was more interested in preparing food for the saviour; while there is nothing wrong in that, the saviour appreciated Mary who sat gracefully at his feet to hear the living word.

Another case study stems from the woman who poured expensive perfume on Jesus-the disciples saw it as a gullible act because they reasoned, it could have been sold, with the money utilized for something more ‘important’. Jesus made it emphatically clear as a crystal, in his response to their disdain,’ Ye have the poor always with you, but me not always’. (Mathew 26:11) Jesus was teaching them the law of priority which he taught Martha as well. We must learn to give place to what is really important in our lives for success in our endeavours.

We must expunge carnality and embrace spiritually- to be carnally minded is death, to be spiritually minded is life and peace. We must focus on kingdom service to enjoy the inherent benefits of the blessed kingdom of God in every facet of our lives. God pays better than the biggest organization in the universe; he is not a user of men, his generosity knows no bound. It stretches across the galaxies into the heavens; how else can we come to terms with his offer of a reward, if we’ll be kind enough, to give a cup of water in the name of the gospel.

We must embrace holiness for without which no man can see God- the righteousness of God must be embraced with all vigour and strength. Sin hinders the prayer of the saints; it is a destroyer and it keeps God away because he is holy. Conversely, a holy life enjoys the commitment of the creator. Irrespective of the height a man attains sin can bring him down- ask Samson.

We’re admonished to be followers of those who by faith and patience obtained the promise. Taking a look at the fathers’ of faith, one thing is very clear- they loved God and made his business theirs. Abraham, Joseph, David… were faithful with the things of the creator. They ensured he was first in their lives, making sure he increased while they decreased. Jesus Christ, though was in so much pain, submitted himself to the will of God.

I am not oblivious there are different keys to success in life; nevertheless, the most important is seeking the kingdom of God. It must be a priority- we must strive to please God by honouring him via obedience to his word. Let’s embrace a lifestyle of service in the masters’ kingdom for we are created for his pleasure to do good works which he ordained before creation. Shalom

This is a generation that seeks the spectacular; hence miss out on the supernatural. We have diverse churches springing up merchandising the gospel in the name of miracles. I am not surprised by these happenings neither should you because the bible clearly warns us about the last days-these are some of the manifestations.

It is not hard to know what fuels these ‘miracle workers’ who feed fat on the sheeps’ they’re supposed to nourish, protect and nurture; the people are partly to blame because all they want are signs of the spectacular branded as miracles. To set the records straight, I believe in the manifestations of the sons of God; miracles are normal in Christendom and they should follow every believer according to the parting words of Jesus.

Nevertheless, what we have today is people chasing miracles instead of the opposite- we’re supposed to work for God, teach the word while he confirms the word with signs and wonders. The craze for the sensational has led many sheeps to the slaughter on demonic altars disguised as pulpits of God.

There are a lot of despicable things happening in the church of God today; while I admit it’s not a new thing, it has entered a new order. So many today are looking for the easy way in the kingdom; they want the fast-food life in the gospel. It doesn’t happen like that because our God is a God of order. There are no shortcuts in Christendom; there are processes necessary for the transformation or miracle you seek.

The Pharisees asked Jesus for a sign; he rebuked them and told them the only sign they will experience is that of Jonah. He made them understand the only sign they would visualize would be his death and resurrection. In order words, that’s the only sign that really matters. Our affections must be on things that are above and not earthly things because, the things which are seen are temporal, but that which is not seen is eternal.

Our lives must be word-centred; we must study to show ourselves approved and get a personal revelation from the word about Jesus Christ. Jesus once had a chat with his disciples asking them who people said he was: several names were brandished-he proceeded to ask for their personal opinion. Simon Peter rose to the occasion and declared,’ thou art the Christ’. Peter had a personal revelation of Jesus and it’s no surprise he became the head of the church when Jesus left the planet.

Another wonderful example that comes to mind albeit funny is the sons of sceva; they lacked knowledge, hence, they were humiliated. They didn’t have a personal revelation of Jesus- they only knew what Paul told them, they didn’t know Jesus. Ignorance will cost you- knowledge is the key to power.

I know your pastor is a wonderful preacher but you need to have a personal encounter with Jesus; thank God we have the Holy Spirit, our dependable helper and teacher who knows Jesus better than anyone-he’s ready to guide us into all truth about the master, the saviour of the universe.

Jesus is asking us the same question he asked his disciples 2,000 years ago, ‘but whom say ye that I am?’There is no substitute for knowledge if we’re to succeed on this planet; they that know their God, they shall be strong and do exploit. Hallelujah!

    Our Value System

Unfortunately, this is a fast-food generation-we want everything quickly without sweat; a culture of quick-scheme wealth pervades the length and breadth of our dear nation. I am not oblivious there are quite a number of persons who work hard and believes in delayed gratification; it is not a popular virtue any longer.

Our value system is in turmoil- there was a generation that believed in hard work and they churned out highly intelligent elites in different sectors. Yahoo-Yahoo, 419ers and sycophants have taken over the scene and are being celebrated as ‘the ones’. A generation that has no respect for her intellectuals will have no place in history. The youths are interested in money by all available means- be it kidnapping, rituals….I am mindful of the immortal words of Solomon,”A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him (Proverbs 28:20, 22).”

Pornographic music videos and lewd lyrics saturates the airwaves and it is received with the loudest ovation with arms wide open (apologies to creed) – and we wonder why sexual predators are on the loose. They are being fed by the thirst for immorality in the land- a video went viral on the net some few months ago; some kids partying and dancing in a despicable manner- just short of soft porn. This shows how far we’ve come as a nation.

While the Politicians and so-called leaders employ ethnic and religious arsenals to divide the citizenry-unfortunately, the youths who should know better, help in the propagation of the hate message in a vicious cycle that doesn’t look like abating any time soon. Hence, we’re always having recycled and redundant products.

The bible encourages us to be followers of those who by faith and patience obtained the promise-thus, I will like to cite some biblical examples because there is nothing new under heaven according to the son of the preacher.

Achan and his entire household became a heap of waste because he took of the accursed thing. Esau lost his glory because he couldn’t embrace delayed gratification- he lacked vision, thus, he saw nothing wrong in selling his birthright for food. A lot of people have mortgaged their future in diverse ways.

Saul lost his throne because he couldn’t wait for Samuel- he stepped into another man’s shoes and he lost his crown. May you not lose yours in Jesus name. This shows the danger in occupying the wrong office- it could lead to disaster. We have notable people in the society today in the wrong office and the people are suffering for it.

The prodigal son went astray because he couldn’t embrace delayed gratification; he paid dearly for it- he feasted on food meant for swine because of his indiscretion. Conversely, Joseph refused to give-in to the devil and he became the prime minister. Abraham, our covenant father, rejected the offer from the king of Sodom to keep the goods and God rewarded him.

Ananias and sapphira lost their lives
because they lacked integrity- how many people see integrity as a worthy virtue today? In some circles you will be labeled as a fool for standing for the truth- that’s how far we have come as a nation. Daniel rejected the portion of the kings’ meat which was being offered to idols and God made him the prime minister.

Righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach-let’s embrace a life of holiness without which no man can see the works of God. Let our light so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our father in heaven.

    The Spirit of Knowledge

Knowledge is one of the most important pillars you need to excel in life. Infact, without knowledge others virtues will not profit you in life- We shall know the truth and it shall make us free. Jesus Christ explained to his disciples they had the ability to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God. The disciples were engraced to know things others couldn’t comprehend. To walk with God we need the capacity to know the things of the kingdom. As a child of God, the Spirit of knowledge is available to help us understand how to live a victorious life in Christ Jesus.

Without the Spirit of knowledge operating in the life of the believer it will be impossible to understand the word of God and appropriate the blessings. The Spirit of God reveals deep things of the Spirit to the believer.

A lot of folks didn’t understand Jesus while he was on earth- the scribes felt he was crazy when he told them he would destroy the temple and re-build it in 3 days. They didn’t understand he was referring to his body not the place of worship. Jesus once inquired from his disciples’ peoples’ opinion of him- he got diverse answers, only Peter got it right. He made it clear the revelation came from God and not man.

The anointing of the Holy Ghost gives us the ability to know diverse things because the Spirit of God is omniscient. The Holy Ghost is a teacher-with his help we can tap into secret things needed to excel in life. Jesus Christ operated with the Spirit of knowledge and he was a delight to behold; the doctors of law were amazed at the depth of his knowledge in the word and they marvelled because he was unlearned.

Adam had the Spirit of knowledge operating in his life; he named the animals and his wife without formal education. Jesus Christ came to restore us to that very state of dominion and that’s the reason the bible says we have an unction from the Holy one and we know all things. In other words, the bible is telling us we have the capacity to know things beyond the capacity of the brain because of the Spirit of God.

Joseph was armed with knowledge thus he fled for Egypt to save the life of Jesus. People perish for lack of knowledge; God wants to guide us and teach us how to excel in life. Adam ignored knowledge and he was destroyed; Lot escaped destruction because he took heed to the counsel of the lord; conversely, Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt because she ignored knowledge.

Jesus would have lost his crown when he was tempted in the wilderness but he was armed with knowledge. So many have lost their glory today because of lack of knowledge. A lot of people are in captivity because they lack knowledge.

    The Spirit of Might

Might talks about power-the ability to do work. God has an assignment for you but there are giants in your promised land. It is our job to possess the land but it is not possible without power. It is the desire of God to help you achieve your purpose in life. Empowerment is needed to excel in your race in life: the devil is described as a roaring lion looking to devour the saints. The only thing that wards off the devil and his host is power. Not even the spirit of madness will oblige a mad man to move near fire.

The Spirit of God is the spirit of might; God needed the Holy Ghost to create the world, we also need him today to achieve our purpose in life. Jesus Christ could do nothing until he was empowered by the Holy Spirit. So many miracles were wrought by him under the anointing of the Spirit of God.

We need the Holy Spirit today to excel in our lives. Life is a battlefield; hence, we must fight with the help of God which guarantees victory in every facet of life. Signs and wonders should follow believers according to the parting statement of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the glory of the latter house will be greater than the former. We are in the last days which started on the day of Pentecost as prophesied by Joel.

The men of old like Elijah, Elisha et al did many wonderful things and we can do more today because they only had the Spirit upon; we have the Spirit inside and upon; hence, we should do more exploits. Any destiny that is not challenged is not of importance; the enemy soldier surrounded Israel but the prophet of God had chariots of fire surrounding him. The enemy lost the battle because of the help of God.

You can’t succeed beyond your level of empowerment: Joshua commanded the sun to change course by virtue of the anointing of the most high, Elijah parted river Jordan, Moses led the Israelites to the wilderness via the parting of the sea…

There is power in the name of Jesus but you must tap into it because it is not automatic. Your level of consecration, prayer life and the word are the determiners of the power level you can tap into. There is no great man in the kingdom that lacks these virtues. Samson had a peculiar anointing upon him but he lacked character, Gehazi could have gotten double the anointing of Elisha, but he lacked integrity, thus he became leprous.

You must spend quality time in prayer, the word and live a holy life before God to tap into the grace of God. I will not be talking about the fear of the lord in the next post because I have covered it extensively.

There is nothing God desires than fellowship and communion with him; he has made this possible via counsel, which are profitable for our Christian walk on earth. God instructs us in diverse ways via the Holy Spirit; it could be the audible voice of the Spirit albeit it seldom is; dreams and visions; via his word; inward witness, which is the primary way the Spirit of God communicates with us. There could also be an impression in our spirit,or a nudge in a certain direction.

God speaks to us in diverse manners; it’s our job to discover the primary way God communicates with us and develop it. The bible declares:’’ But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him (1 John 2:20,27).’’ The Holy Spirit is present on our inside to guide us into all truth.

God is in the business of speaking, It is therefore funny to hear, ‘I can’t hear from God’; the bible says he that has ears let him hear what the Spirit saith; so it is important to be in the spirit to hear what God is saying. The book of Job 33:14-16, makes us understand:,’ For God [does reveal His will; He] speaks not only once, but more than once, even though men do not regard it [including you, Job].[One may hear God’s voice] in a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men while slumbering upon the bed, Then He opens the ears of men and seals their instruction [terrifying them with warnings].

In the book of revelation, we’re made to understand John was in the spirit and he heard a voice…Until you are in the Spirit, you can’t hear from God. You must saturate your mind with the word of God and have a good prayer life.

God also speaks through Spiritual leaders he has placed over our lives; he said in Jeremiah 3:15,’’ And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.’’You need a sound mentor who can teach you the unadulterated word of God; it will help you a great deal in life.

There are so many benefits of divine direction; I’ll cover some:

Prosperity: Concerning king Uzziah, the bible declares in 2 chronicles 26:5,’’ And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.’’As long as he sought the lord, he enjoyed breakthrough in every facet in his life. By sound counsel king Uzziah was a prosperous man. Also the bible declares, if they obey and serve him they will spend their days in prosperity and spend their years in pleasure (Job 36:11). Obedience to the voice of the most high, guarantees breakthrough in every area of your life.

Guidance: Psalm 32:8, declares,’’ I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.’’ God is willing to guide us to our promise land if we would seek him, for he that seeketh findeth. David asked God whether to pursue after the enemy; he also made enquiries concerning the outcome, God was glad to tell him.

Protection: God told Joseph to seek refuge in Egypt because of Herod; he was instructed to return after the death of Herod.

Success: If we’re willing and obedient to the word of the lord, we shall eat the good of the land according to the word of the lord. Abraham is a classical example of the benefit of obedience; he was willing to sacrifice his son, an act that was rewarded bountifully. Also Isaac wanted to go to Egypt because of the famine, he was restrained by God; he stayed and became very great.

Provision: Elijah was told to go to the brook where he was fed by the ravens; God is willing to provide for us, but it comes via counsel.

Conversely, disobedience or neglecting the counsel of the lord can be disastrous; Samson lost his glory courtesy of disobedience; Solomon didn’t finish well because he went after strange women, something, the lord clearly forbade him. Moses didn’t see the Promised Land via disobedience.

We need to spend time in prayer and the word; we must also seek the lord with all our heart for he is waiting to guide us.

The Spirit of understanding places you in an enviable position amongst your peers in life. A powerful reference comes from the men of Issachar reputed to have understanding of the times, thus were head of their folks courtesy of the Spirit of understanding. The Ethiopian eunuch couldn’t understand what he was reading until Philip came along.

Joseph rose to prominence via his understanding of the impending economic crisis and prosperity in Egypt; he became the prime minister courtesy of the Spirit of understanding that was at work in his life.

Daniel is another classical example of a man who had the Spirit of understanding in a unique way; the bible makes us understand in Daniel 1:17, he had understanding in all visions and dreams. This gift played a major role in his ascendancy and relevance in Babylon. Daniel was sought when the finger of God scribbled some text on the wall; the royal household was scared but the queen knew there was someone who had the answer for the Spirit of understanding was upon Daniel.

The Spirit of understanding can help you close that business deal; it can also help you in your academic endeavours. I am a living testimony of this wonderful Spirit; in my undergraduate days, I took some very difficult courses which were difficult for me to understand ab initio, but God granted me grace and gave me a deep understanding of those courses.

There will always be challenging situations to contend with on earth but knowing what to do places you on top of the situation. Jacob had the Spirit of understanding working in his life while working for laban, he was able to devise a new technique to breed new species of animals. The Spirit of wisdom and understanding was at work in his life, hence he was a success.

Jesus Christ knew things in his days that surpassed the imaginations of the doctors of law; they marvelled at his understanding of the law at such a young age having not learnt. Without understanding there can be no salvation, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him.
The blessings of God can’t be appropriated without the Spirit of understanding and a victorious life in Christ is impossible without understanding our rights and status in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ made his disciples understand and of course us, ‘unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God’ but to others it is done in parables and they wont be able to comprehend because they lack understanding. Jesus Christ wasn’t accepted as God in some quarters while he was on earth and even to this day, some sectors dismiss the divinity of Christ because they lack understanding.

Understanding of the word of God is needed for success on earth because all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hid in the word. But it takes understanding of the word of God to subdue mountains and reign on earth. A lot of folks are poor, battered and defeated today for they lack understanding of biblical principles of prosperity. The gift of understanding is available for believers today but you must submit to God with a humble spirit to access understanding. You must be teachable and disciplined to partake of the Spirit of understanding. Shalom

To buttress the validity of the 7 Spirits of God, I will like to share some bible passages with you:

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead (Revelation 3:1)

And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD. (Revelation 4:5)

And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6)

The three references above affirm that Jesus had the 7 Spirits of God; furthermore, the birth of the messiah was foretold by Prophet Isaiah: And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. (Isaiah 11:1,2). The 7 Spirits of God are clearly listed here, I will like to expatiate on the 7 Spirits of God.

The Spirit of the Lord: I consider the Spirit of the lord the hand of the lord or the anointing of the lord coming upon an individual for a specific task. Going through the manifesto of Jesus in Luke 4:18, he declared: THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Please understand there is the anointing within and the anointing upon, the Holy Spirit comes on our inside to fill us when we receive his baptism but the anointing comes upon individuals specifically for service. From the text above in Luke 4:18, we can see clearly the Spirit of the lord came upon Jesus for service, to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the broken-hearted…

I strongly believe the Spirit of the lord is like a seal coming on an Individual without which the other 6 Spirits cannot function. Remember what happened when Jesus was being baptized? And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased (Mathew 3:17). The Spirit of the lord coming upon an individual is God committing himself to that individual.

Let’s look at other examples of Individuals the Spirit of the lord came upon in the Holy book:

1.David: David enjoyed the backing of the Spirit of God in a practical way. He never lost a battle in his lifetime. David was anointed for service by Samuel: Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the SPIRIT OF THE LORD came mightily upon David from that day forward (1 Samuel 16:13). So we can see from here one of the ways the Spirit of God comes upon an individual is via anointing with Oil. David couldn’t function until the Spirit of the lord came upon him.

2.Othniel was a judge but he needed the anointing of the Spirit of God to function in that capacity: And the SPIRIT OF THE LORD came upon him , and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-rishathaim.

3.Saul: Saul disobeyed God and the SPIRIT OF GOD left him as a result of that: ‘But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.’ (1 Samuel 16:14)

4.Ezekiel: I am sure you are aware of the epic story of Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones. How exactly was Ezekiel able to do all God instructed him to do? The answer can be found in Ezekiel 37:1,’ THE HAND OF THE LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD , and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones.’ Please take note the hand of the lord is synonymous with the Spirit of God.

5.Samson: How was Samson able to do all those remarkable things written about him? And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the SPIRIT OF THE LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands( Judges 15:14

6.Philip: How did Philip manage to disappear after the baptism? When they came up out of the water, THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing(Acts 8:39)

The Spirit of God can come upon individuals for actions not stated above; this is in no way a comprehensive account of the manifestations of the Spirit of God in the life of a believer. The Spirit of the lord can help you in every area of your life, if you will yield to him. If you look at the manifestations of the Spirit of God in the lives of the 6 characters above, you’ll understand God can help you in diverse ways; be it in your business, marriage, education and in any area where you need his help. If the hand of the lord comes upon you in that organization there is no way you wont be promoted because the Spirit of God is an excellent Spirit. The bible says where the Spirit of the lord is, there is liberty, hence no yoke or burden can survive the hand of the lord upon an individual.

I want to share with you today one of the most important messages you will ever come across. Please don’t get me wrong, it will not be because of my writing ability or skill but by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Sequel to this, I have established the fact that your prosperity is tied to the third person of the God-head, the Spirit of the living God.

To further show the importance and indispensability of the Holy Spirit, God had to rely on him during creation. The bible describes that the earth was null and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering on the surface of the water. So here we can see the Holy Spirit was there during creation and the moment the father declared,’ let there be light’ the Spirit of God went into action to put on the switch. Jesus Christ promised us he will send another comforter to comfort us when he was departing the earth. Today we have the Holy Spirit here with us to guide us into our glorious destinies. Please open you heart today.

I want to share with you today about the 7 Spirits of God. Are there 7 Spirits? The Holy Spirit is one but has 7 basic functionalities otherwise known as the 7 Spirits of God. I want to open your eyes to the multi-dimensional roles of the Spirit of God in the life of a believer. But before I proceed I want to lay a very important foundation because it is quite important.

I hope you have received Jesus Christ into your life because it is the prerequisite to receiving the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues; If not, I will like you to embrace Jesus Christ today, he wants to be the lord of your life and he is our access to the Holy Spirit. It doesn’t matter what you have done, God is willing to accept you today. The bible says for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Life without Christ is full of crisis, Jesus is here today with his stretched out arm asking you to embrace him. Please understand only God can give you true happiness and he is the only one that can give you joy. No amount of worldly activities be it at Dubai or Milan can give you joy, it can only come from God. There can be temporary moments of fun but after all is said and done, you’ll have to face the challenge. Please stop trying to spend money on the affairs of this world to get happiness because no amount of alcohol, women, food or vacation will give you joy.

Let me share a personal experience with you today: while ministering in a fellowship I decided to teach on the Holy Spirit; after the teaching session, I began to lead them in prayer to receive the Holy Spirit. Mid-way into the prayer, I had a leading in my spirit to lead them to Christ, I ignored the prompting because I assumed wrongly they should have received Jesus into their lives. After some few minutes the message came again to lead them to Christ, this time around I stopped and asked: how many of you are born again? To my utter dismay only two hands were in the air. The Holy Spirit was responsible for the information because the bible says, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God; they are the sons of God. There is no way the Holy Spirit would come into a sinners life, that is the reason the Holy Spirit told me to lead them to Jesus before he could come into their lives.

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ, Please say this short prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come to you today in the name of Jesus, I believe Jesus died for my sins and on the third day rose from the dead. I accept Jesus as my personal lord and saviour. Jesus come into my life. I believe I am saved. Please take note, a change has occurred in your spirit man because it has received illumination from God; nevertheless, your body must be subdued and your mind must be renewed daily with the word of God. It is a process but you will get there.
Now to receive the Holy Spirit into your life it is the same process because for every one that asketh receiveth.

I want to share my experience with you: more than a decade ago, under the ministry of Bishop David Oyedepo, he told those of us willing to receive the Holy Spirit to come out. I joined those who went forward for the empowerment, after we opened our mouth and prayed for the Holy Spirit to come into our lives, some started speaking in tongues which is a manifestation of the Spirit. Those who ‘hadn’t received’ were told to remain while those who had received were told to go back to their seats. The prayer sessions continued and more people received and it started getting embarrassing for me because we were very few left.

Something happened, one of the ministers said something profound on that day, he made us realise, the moment we asked the Holy Spirit to come into our lives, he entered. Please take note that the Holy Spirit never muscles anyone, he will never go against your will, he is a gentle Spirit. If you don’t want him in your life, he will stay away. Now he said another interesting thing, ‘open your mouth and begin to speak by faith’. That was what broke the ice, I along with others were waiting for the Holy Spirit to speak but it is not so, we have to do the speaking and the utterances will flow. I was waiting for a physical manifestation even though I had received perhaps 30 minutes before the pastor gave the explanation. I opened my mouth and began to speak albeit a syllable. Later the devil tried to deceive me by making me feel, I was saying rubbish, I simply told him to let me be because the ‘rubbish’ was never in my spirit before then. As you speak, the tongues will get better. Please lay aside every weight that can hinder you, open your mind, and humble yourself before God.

Please take a moment to read from the gospels before you say the prayer.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: HOW MUCH MORE shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Luke 11:9-13).

Please say this short prayer: Your Word says that if I will ask I will receive the Holy Spirit, so in the Name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, I am asking You to fill me to overflowing with Your precious Holy Spirit. Jesus, baptize me in the Holy Spirit. Because of Your Word, I believe that I now receive and I thank You for it. I believe that the Holy Spirit is within me and by faith I accept it. Now, Holy Spirit, rise up within me as I praise my God. I fully expect to speak with other tongues as you give me the utterance.

Now begin to thank God for filling you with the Holy Spirit and begin to praise him. The tongues will start rising up within you, open your mouth and begin to speak, it doesn’t matter if it’s a syllable, that is the way you start typical of a baby learning a new language. Continue to speak for as long as you like.

I will be talking about the 7 Spirits of God in the next piece, its important you get a proper perspective and foundation before I go into it.
