Deliver yourself

Isaiah 52:2, “Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit [on thy throne], O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bonds of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.”

Deliverance is a major subject in the body of Christ today- a lot of Christians are in one form of bondage or the other due to demonic oppression. However, this ought not to be because Jesus has destroyed the works of the devil over the believer. The believer has authority and power to crush any form of oppression (Luke 10:19).

The devil has afflicted quite a lot of people and in a bid to be free some have sought prayers from diverse sources- not the least, professional prophets with dreadlocks and long flowing dirty robes who take advantage of them through demonic baths and evil concoctions. We also have babalawos in suits pretending to be ministers of God wrecking lives of the ignorant. That is why the bible says in Isaiah 5:13, ” therefore are my people gone into captivity because they have no knowledge… ”

Challenges of life have led countless people into mountains of varying proportions to seek the face of God. I have no problem with people seeking godly counsel from ministers of light and separating themselves in a mountain to seek the face of God- however, there is a lot of abuse and ignorance going in these places. There are ministers who are merchandizing the gospel by selling prophecies to the gullible. They specialize in telling people the colour of their underwears and the money in their wardrobe. The judgement of God is coming on them speedily if they don’t repent.

Before Jesus died, he gave us authority and power over the enemy, the price for our deliverance was paid in full. While a minister can pray for you, there is also provision to deliver yourself as our anchor scripture today tells us in plain language. Loose thyself from thy bonds via prayer because you have the power to do it.
