Adversity

Scripture:

1 Corinthians 16:9, “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. ”

There are times we go through challenges that makes it look we’re outside the will of God. It’s not often so- Paul was in the will of God and he was facing a lot of opposition. There were openings to minister the word but there was a lot of resistance by the enemy. I am not saying difficulty is a measure or indicator that we’re in the plan of God because it could also mean we’re doing the wrong thing. The grace of God is available when we’re in line with his purpose for our lives. There are two extremes that could play out in this scenario; the first is to believe we’re in the will of God because of the enormity of the opposition, while the other is to assume we’re out of the will of God because of the level of opposition we’re facing.

The word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit must be our metric at all times to evaluate situations. The believer goes through diverse temptations and challenges in life because the devil is out to distract us from our high calling in Christ Jesus.  When God was done with creation he rested, when Jesus was done with the devil he declared ‘it is finished’ after finishing him at Calvary. The devil is defeated but we must enforce that at all times.

It gets very tough at times but the victory is ours because whosoever is born of God overcometh the world (1 John 5:4). If you have received Jesus as your personal lord and saviour, the devil is under your feet. Exercise your dominion over him and tell him where he belongs.

Remember this: Every vision will be challenged by the enemy

Assignment(s): Ask for the grace of God to withstand every situation that comes your way.
